A friend sent me your site tonight and I'm going through it. I want to mention something that happened to my grandson, many other children, as well as John Travolta's son that people don't know about. I'm hoping you will post this information on your website. Maybe, we can help save the lives of many children. There is a disease called Kawasaki Syndrome that if not diagnosed early enough, can kill or cause rheumatic heart disease, Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and other disabilities. It is somewhat preventable. It has come to our attention (my families and mine) that the disease is, at least in one form, directly related to shampooing carpeting around children. I also heard John Travolta mention that fact just last week on The Larry King Show. I don't know if they have excerpts from the show or not but Mr. King's website is cnn.com/larryking. No one knows why some children are effected and not others but I can say from our personal experience, my grandson had a cold when his rug was shampooed, possibly making it harder for him to fight off the chemicals from the rug that attacked his immune system. Kawasaki Syndrome is basically an overload of the immune system. It comes on very suddenly and very violently. This disease was most known in Japan and is now becoming much too common in the United States. My grandson was lucky in that although he is left with JRA and on medication over a year and a half later, he does have great medical care and we have hope he will grow out of it. But I do know of children who are left with severe heart damage. I ask you to please consider posting this disease information somewhere on your site with a warning about the simple act of shampooing a rug around children under age 10. Infants are most susceptible. My grandson was eight years old when he got it. It's best to have children out of the house for at least three days after cleaning carpets or out of the room where the carpet was cleaned, air out the rooms as well, and if a child has a cold or any other illness, wait for the child to be well before even thinking of shampooing. water and eggs in pan and peel, using water to rinse away excess
