Know that you do not have to carry the burdens of others. It is not
selfish to take care of oneself. It is nice to treat yourself to the good
things also!
Add lots of garlic to your broth... freeze in
ice cube trays...is great base for many soups
and clear base gravies and sauces in stir fries.
Cats and dogs are repelled by citronella
and that is the smell in the oils of citrus fruits.
It is an easy way to keep your female animals
from getting pregnant. Just rub a twist of lemon
or lime or grapfruit into thier fur. Or boil up the peels,
let cool and use as a rinse water for your
dogs and a fine mist spray for cats.
Fleas...if your house gets full of them...just put a bowl of soapy
water in the center of each room at night with a small light over it.
Turn out every other light, block every other light source except
light over Soapy water. In the morning the bowl will be full of floating fleas.
Do it for two or three nights and usually all the fleas are gone.
Feed your animals garlic in their food every day.
It is a natural flea repellent. You can boil garlic
and spray the juice on the pets instead of chemicals
Also peperment will help too and they smell better than just garlic.
Hyssop to balance the body and has proven
to be an excellent remedy for many things...arthritis,
diabetes, hypoglycemia...it is mostly used as a tea...
it will also sooth sore throats and is used topically
as a burn or rash remedy. Also can quell hunger pangs.
Dogs and cats when stroked and cared for lower
blood pressure, raise spirits, cause laughter.
Dogs sense epeleptic seizures.
I meditate bringing white light in slowly from the crown
to the toes first through all of the muscles, ( you concentrate
on each of them and envision the white light there) and you work it
all through the skin and muscles and when you get to your toes,
you begin sending it back upward through the bones, very slowly
and through each bone. Then when you get to the skull you
flood the area and continue your meditation, or end it.
There is a tea called Essiac...named after a nurse in Canada her name simply
spelled in reverse. But the remedy came from Saschacewan indians
during the days when they were running the oil pipeline
(early 1900's I think is the time frame) A womans husband went
to work the pipeline and though she had breast cancer
(which was beleived nearly untreatable in those days) she was determined to go.
Living conditions were basically tents and tent cities. No one had any
money and tho it was a good living to work the lines, there were also
very few places to actually live near where the men were working.
So people pitched tents and just moved as the work moved.
Between the living conditions and her progressing disease she became very ill
and her husband wanted to quit and take her to a large city to be treated.
She begged him not to and he talked to the men working with him
about what he could do. Some of the men were Saschewan Indian.
They liked this man and one of them sent a medicine man to his wife.
That medicine man gave the woman tea to drink and she was cured of her breast cancer.
When they finally went to the city again she went to a clinic to be examined
and the nurse there who
helped her undress for the exam asked her
where she had gotten surgery done for her breast cancer in the midst of the oil fields.
The woman explained what the medicine man had treated her.
She had not had surgery. I believe that her breast had actually
shriveled some as tho she had had some type of surgery,
or even chemo, or radiation treatment.
The nurse went in search of the tea and the medicine man.
She did indeed find him and she began in the clinic where
she worked giving women with cancers the tea and the recipe for the tea.
