Yogurt

During this time of cold and flu season, yogurt helps to build up

healthy bacteria in the intestines. 3 cups a day is recommended to

assist in fighting viruses that are in the air now.

Basil

Basil has the property of clearing the head and a stuffy nose. Make a

little sachet of it and use it for headaches or sinus problems. In

Italy, a sprig of Basil is an emblem of love and fidelity.

Echinacea

Echinacea is used as a "blood purifier" - an agent to cleanse the body

of toxic materials. It is helpful in treating infections. Echinacea is a

natural antibiotic, helping restore normal body functions. It boosts the

immune system.

Garlic & Onions:

Garlic and onions have always been a popular remedy for colds, sore

throats, and congestion. Eat raw or very lightly steamed or sautéed.

*******************

Many people are allergic to tissues...

Shake one in the sunlight streaming in your home and you will see why. They have millions of particles flying in the air to further cause problems. Some people have chronic colds and never even suspect it is their tissues.

(Paper towels aren't soft on the nose...but have lots fewer

particles)....An old clean T Shirt cut up is the best answer to this problem in case you are allergic.

******

While on the subject....some women don't realize they are allergic to bathroom tissue...this may cause itch and sores and drainage from sores...to become a chronic problem.

(Unscented baby wipes are the answer)

Another important thing for women to know is about is:

TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME?

Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is a rare bacterial-caused illness occurring

mostly in menstruating women who are using high absorbency tampons.

for details click link below

*********

Tissues used for colds should be flushed immediately down the toilet.

(to prevent spread of germs to others)

****************

When flu season is in full swing...I eat out less...avoid crowds when possible...and make sure I get plenty of rest and more vitamin C ...A gram a day.

COLDS/FLU

At the first sign of a cold or flu we use Vitamin C-1000mg every hour

with 3 oz. of water. Here are some herbs and vitamins that work well in

boosting the Immune System.

*******

For the Flu... the fastest remedy is drink lots water and do a colonic

and dont eat anything

********

I have had the flu for 2 weeks but feeling better . My remedy is to eat 3 prunes with vit c, then drink a glass of water

*******

Fighting the flu early

Echinacea (purple coneflower) and zinc lozenges are often recommended

for the flu, but to be effective, they should be taken at the very

beginning of flu symptoms. They work by stimulating the immune system,

and won't help much if your immune system is already fighting a

full-blown flu. Another food item known to stimulate the immune system

is any type of pepper -- common ground black pepper, cayenne pepper

sauce, jalapeno peppers, etc. You could add any of these to your food

when you notice the first aches or sore throat of the flu setting in.

When family members start catching the flu, I eat jalapeno peppers daily

as a precaution. This usually keeps the flu at bay as long as I continue

the daily peppers. And yes, peppers even worked with this year's flu.

*****

Ginger for the flu...Use fresh ginger.

*****

Influenza

Influenza is an acute, contagious sometimes epidemic disease caused by a

virus and characterized by inflammation of the upper respiratory tract,

fever, chills, muscle ache, and fatigue.

The following herbs are good for treating this condition:

* Angelica

* Balm

* Black Mustard

* Boneset

* Carline Thistle

* Cayenne

* Echinacea

* Elder

* Garlic

* Ginger

* Golden Seal

* Horseradish

* Lime

* Marjoram

* Myrrh

* Nasturtium

* Pleurisy Root

* Peppermint

* White Poplar

* Yarrow

*******

When intestinal flu spreads quickly through a family, most

everyone experiences weakness, vomiting and/or diarrhea.

Take normal precautions (wash the hands constantly) to

prevent the spread to family members, and take Homeopathic

Veratrum Album 30X three to four times a day to relieve the

symptoms.
