Many believe that disease takes over a body that is low in alkaline and high in acid.

Keeping your body's PH balance is important to good health.

Many things affect it and your body works hard to keep it in the proper range.

Persons with gastric flu, gout, an arthritic condition, CFS, or muscle stiffness (from overtraining) symptoms may do well to ingest more alkaline-ash foods while eating less acidic foods.

The ammonia smell in Cancer wards is the bodies last ditch attempt at making the body alkaline.

We are born in an alkaline state.

Urine gets is name from "urea", which is a form of ammonia caused by the body's breakdown of protien

Besides for making urine, the kidneys control much of the chemical balance of the blood, and the amount of water it contains. Specifically, the kidneys monitor and control the acidity or "acid-base" (pH) balance of the blood. If the blood is too acidic, the kidney makes bicarbonate to restore the bloods pH balance. If the blood is to alkaline, then the kidney excretes bicarbonate into the urine to restore the balance. The kidney also filters out drugs into the urine, and senses the blood pressure to adjust the amount of water being urinated out. The adrenal glands on top of the kidney make hormones controlling sugar and fat metabolism. You can see that the kidney is a complex organ!

 


 

The body will steal things from certain places to maintain the PH balance if we don't provide it...and then it finally breaks down.

Most of pH-homeostatic balance is achieved during inhaling-exhaling, but food has impact when the system is inordinantly stressed or imbalanced.


What can we learn from this?

 

We can learn to eat more fruits and veggies...less dairy and meat.

We can breathe deeply to help our engines work properly.

We can keep stress to a minimum as stress makes us acidic.

We can laugh and smile a lot (even if we fake it) as those responses make our bodies alkaline. :) <---real smile.

Do you ever wonder why some days you feel really great and some days really blah? Well...it is the PH balance at work.

An apple a day is really really good advice.

When you are down..don't reach for the candy or cookies...reach for fruit or veggies....Just see if it doesn't make you feel better.

I have lists of the acid vs alkaline foods. It is human nature to read them and follow it for a few days...then slide back into old eating habits. Why is that? We all want to feel our best but don't want to do a few simple things to achieve it?


Here are some easy ones we can do at the computer:

Drink lots of water.

Breathe deep

Smile and laugh a lot...(who will know?)

Keep fruit and veggie snacks within reach.

(That means putting the candy bars on the back of the top shelf ...hard to reach place...)

How to Make Mineral-Rich Vegetable Broth

Take 3 quarts of distilled water and add the peels from 6-8 medium to large whole potatoes, 6-8 stalks of cut celery, and 3 or 4 large leaves from any greens, such as collard, mustard, kale, turnip or a half bunch of parsley. Even carrot or beet tops will do. Whatever is green. You could add kelp if you wanted high concentrates of a wide variety of minerals. Use a stainless steel pot and bring to a light boil with the lid on. Simmer for 30 minutes. Remove from the heat, and after it has cooled a bit, strain and throw out chunks, keeping only the juice. Refrigerate. Drink 2-3 cups/day.

Alternate Powerful Methods of Getting Minerals into Your Body to Remove Acids:

Carrot and celery juice. Adding goat whey to your carrot juice is excellent.

Eating just celery for 2 or 3 days is an excellent way of getting sodium into the system and balancing the digestive system. Drinking carrot juice or carrot and celery juice for a week, or two will do wonders. A psyllium shake once or twice a day and a few Chompers 2 hours afterwards will improve this program.

The Standing People have turned to the most beautiful hues of gold and flame. The leaves are dropping slowly to the ground, as they prepare for their winter rest. Unpicked apples and pears now drop, inviting the deer to come eat. The Chestnuts have dropped also and their pods are bursting open, offering the fruit of their summer of abundance, to those who will take the time to harvest them.

Geese now fly the familiar migratory pathways, to their winter homes. The sound of their honking as they pass, reminds us that another cycle is almost finished. When the snow begins to fall, covering Mother Earth in her winter blanket, the time of rest will be upon us. The time of rejuvenation, of allowing ourselves and all in creation to rest from our labors of the old cycle, and rebuild our inner resources for the coming new one. For now, let us revel in the glorious display that Creator has brought before our wondering eyes. It will pass all too soon, but then that is part of the path of life. Give thanks for the blessings and abundance we have received, share them with those less fortunate, and know that Creator ALWAYS provides if we allow him/her to do so.
