I have decided to make a page on the benefits of Emu Oil. We have a regular in Holistic chat who has been talking about its benefits for some time now. Many in chat have tried it and agree that is is a wonderful product. Here are some things I have gathered about it.

For months I was having nasty tendonitis problems.
Summer of '98 I was at Equitana Expo in Kentucky, talking to some fellow therapists & rubbing my elbow. Suddenly a tap on the back. It looked like a 40 yr. old woman w/white hair. (She was actually 70! w/hands that looked like a 25er)
"Here, put some of this "earl" on ya". Being a skeptic, I said, "right." & did.
5 min. later the pain was gone. She gave me her website & the rest is history. Have neighbors using it for acne, ulcers (2 drops on tongue-3x a day), arthritis, etc. A friend said it stopped her nightime itch that she spent hundreds w/mds.
Anyway...it's tough to find DOUBLE-PROCESSED 100% Emu Oil...

I am glad that some else knows about emu oil. Emu oil is wonderful isn't it? You are right, emu oil is used by 85% of the sports teams for sports related injuries. Exzema, and shingles have had great benefits. Emu oil alone or mixed with essential oils are all so good for the skin, hair, burns, and bites. Thanks to all here on the board for responding to my research data and samples, I really do appreciate it. Lets keep those emu ranchers raising emu. thanks Pat Smith at emuriel. some of

This Australian Bird was originally raised in America as a novelty pet
and processed as steaks for upscale reaturants. Lab tests found that it
produces a deep penetrating oil that moisturizes the skin. They also
found that it was a powerful antiseptic & analgesic rub.
Emu Oil contains OLEIC & LIINOLEIC acids that promote healing and keep
the skin soft and supple. The penetrating properties get deep down into
joints and provide almost instant relief from pain and friction.
SORE BACK, STIFLES, TENDON RELIEF
Emu Oil also gets deep down between the fibers and helps loosen those
tight spasmic areas that take such a beating during normal training and
competition.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS FOR YOUR HORSE:
*Coupled with Massage Therapy, it eliminates Scar Tissue In Muscles &
Tendons. *Less wound healing time. *Faster Muckage & Sweet Itch Healing.
*Helps heal Insect & Spider bites. *Reduces swelling after Surgery.
*Helps warmup muscles prior to exercise. *Shrinks Keloid Scars and, as
an antifungal, relieves ringworm. *Aids your therapist in working-out
those deep, stubborn muscular problems more quickly...your horse can
return to normal exercise in less time.
The "Healing Touch" Emu Oil Goes A Long Way... Just A Couple Drops Per
Area Does It!
The Emu
The Emu is the second largest flightless bird. It originates in Australia and is currently being commercially raised in the United States for its meat and oil. For thousands of years the Australian aborginines have utilized the Emu oil for health and healing benefits it has. The fantastic qualities of the Emu Oil are now coming to the forefront.
There are only three oils in the world that have the ability to penetrate into the lower layers of the skin.
Emu oil is one of them. It is a powerful healer and gentle as can be. It has no offensive odor or greasy feel after using.
The American Emu Association approached Dr. Alexander Zemtsov, an assistant professor in the Department of Dermatogy and Biochemistry at Texas Tech University of Health and Science Center in regards to the dermatological effects of Emu oil. He is also President of the International Society for Digital Imaging of the Skin and editor of "Skin Research & Technology."
He found that Emu Oil has all of these properties.
* Low irritation-the irritation factor of Emu Oil is the same as water.
* Transdermal-it penetrates the skin barrier.
* Good emulsifier-it emulsifies or blends well with other products including water and blends products together that would not otherwise blend.
* Bacteriostatic-will not promote or support bacterial growth
* non-comedogenic-non-poreclogging.
* Higly moisturizing.
* Reduces or prevents scarring.
* Can be used as a medium- to carry other medications through the skin to deeper tissues.
* Significant wound healing properties
* Can be combined with other pharmaceuticals to allow for a deeper and enhanced healing and transdermal benefit.
Emu Oil is a fascinating,
wonderful
substance.
Healing for humans and animals!
