I accidentally stumbled onto this. I had spilled some cocoa
while making brownies...I wiped it up with a damp paper
towel and then decided to wipe the left over egg from my antique measuring cup. Now this cup had been used many times and had that terrible cloudy white powdery "baked in" residue from the dishwasher.
As soon as I had 'swabbed' it out I noticed that it looked
sparkling clear. I washed it off and it looked like new.
What?
Yes...it looked like NEW!
It was crystal clear and beautiful!
That started me thinking.....so on the weekend I started using cocoa ....(a tiny bit sprinkled on a wet paper towel) to clean various things in the house.
It made everything look like new!
I finally mixed cocoa with hot water...poured it into a sprayer bottle and sprayed windows...mirrors ...appliances...you name it.
Everything gleamed!
(I used a tablespoon of cocoa to three cups of hot water)
Then I thought...maybe this is a good health cleanser too.
I brought some water to a near boil...put 1/4 teaspoon of
cocoa into a cup and added the water. (no sugar)
It was delicious.
I don't drink coffee and not too fond of tea either...
but this was just perfect.
(Yes...it did work as a cleanse too)
:)
I am still in the experimental stage with this
so I will add to the list as I find new uses for it.
So far it has cleaned:
The cloudy film from dishes
(Glass and Plastic)
Appliances
Windows
Mirrors
Inside of Oven.
(use some soda with it for ovens)
Toilet
Bathroom Tile.
Porcelain Sinks
Outdoor grill
Glass and plastic Shower doors
Oven racks
Stainless steel pan bottoms
Stainless steel sinks
Plastic vita mix containers
Silverware
Laundry tubs
Teeth
(see update below)
After the cocoa clean...use a wet and then dry paper towel to finish.
I happen to use imported vienna cocoa but I think any cocoa will work.
(I have since purchased Hershey's and it works just as well) :)
You will hear 'squeaky clean' like you have never heard 'squeaky clean' before!
I have noticed that my drains are emptying faster so maybe the cocoa is cleaning them too.
UPDATE-UPDATE
You may notice that I added teeth to the cleaning list.
What a new idea...If you brush your teeth and they don't squeak
when you run the side of your finger over them...they are not clean.
I had my friends try it with the same experience.
Cocoa brushing (dip the tip of your toothbrush in cocoa and
feel the difference)
They whitened and the plaque was gone.
(I canceled my dentist appointment)
Now I am using cocoa butter to polish my furniture...I am very sensitive to any chemicals ....It takes very little to get a wonderful shine..
I am using a jar of
"Aura Cacia"
100% pure cocoa butter.
I use a soft cloth...go over the furniture and follow with a dry soft cloth.
Smells good...and..... (no chemical headache!)
Some other cleaning tips are as follows:
A piece of heavy felt...(like they protect furniture with when they move it) makes a great cleaning cloth. If you have a chance try it.
Also a cheap cotton doily makes a wonderful dish cloth...looks pretty
cleans wonderfully and washes out easily..
To brighten copper... use salt and vinegar
If you scorch a pan of food....fill it with sudsy water and two paper towels...it loosens it fast.
Diet Tip
1/8 cup of aloe juice
Two midget sweet pickles
Will give you energy and stop
hunger for hours!
'Whodoya'
think thought of this?
;)
ANOTHER DIET TIP!
1/4 teaspoon of cocoa in a cup of hot water makes a delicious drink.
(no sugar needed!)
It makes you feel full and satisfied.
Look at this link and see why cocoa is so good for you!!
Or go to Google and type in:Cocoa contains and look at all the
sites praising its use.
BONUS TREAT!
My favorite bran Muffin Recipe
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups bran buds
1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg
1/4 cup olive oil
Mix bran and milk in bowl and let set for two minutes
add eggs and oil and then flower mixture (flour salt sugar baking powder mixed in seperate bowl)
Bake at 400º for 18-20 min or until done..To get the muffins out of the pan easily...set hot muffin pan on cold wet dishtowel right out of oven and Immediately tip them with a knife. Works like a charm..(they never stick)
(I use grape seed oil instead of olive....I grease the cups with butter...
I add walnuts ( 1/2 cup) and dried currants (two tablespoons) and bake them in a heavy
commercial muffin tin until they are quite brown.
Very crunchy and delicious.
Someone in chat said that the stuff you put in the dishwasher that injects into the rinse cycle is great for cleaning stainless steel.
(Running a gallon of white vinegar through the cycle in an empty dishwasher
Takes out lots of built up lime deposits)
PRESERVE PRODUCE AND FROZEN ITEMS EASILY!
The Thank You Bags!!!
This is another thing I found out accidentally.
I had left my carrots from the Farmers Market in the bag they gave to me with them and put them in the crisper. It was a huge bag full.
I noticed that they stayed remarkably fresh as I used them... so I decided to leave a few in the bag for an experiment. I finally used them six months later and they were as fresh and tasty as the day I purchased them!
AMAZING!
I then started putting the wrapped freezer items in the bags.
Even bread stayed frost free for ages.
Be sure to get the bags that say Plas T Sak on them.
1,000 bags for only $15.95 plus S & H.

Health and exercise tip!
While spending time sitting in the bathroom....reach forward with both hands
below your ankles....dig in your fingers tips or finger nails if you prefer and move hands up to your knees....repeat as you circle both legs with this movement. Keep it up until you have massaged both legs all the way around. This will stimulate your bowels and the reflexes for your internal organs will also be stimulated.
(Wrist to elbow stimulation is for internals as well)
