'The Attack'

 

Sadness permeates our land

as the dust cloud creeps into

every conscious mind.

Sadness for the losses and sadness

for the evil that lurks in shadows.

Sadness for the children whose parents

Won't be coming home.

Sadness for all whose lives have been devastated.

Sadness for our loss of

the feeling of security.

Mixed with that sadness is the pride

in those who gave their lives trying to save others....

in those who are still helping

in those who gave blood....and financial gifts

to in some way ease the pain of this

horrible unexpected attack on our country.

In those who helped others find their way

out of crumbling buildings.

In the volunteers cleaning up rubble...tending to

the injured...keeping order...

In those who gave food and water to the helpless and the helpers.

In those of the news media who are in danger in order to

keep us aware of what is going on.

In those who are counseling any in need...

helping each other to get thru this tradgedy.

Dear Father in heaven....

I pray that we will not see a tragedy like this again...that you will heal the injured...comfort those who have lost loved ones...help us all to cope...help us to let go of petty grievances and work together to mend the aftermath and sorrow

that sliced so unexpectedly

from the sky.

Help our leaders to use good judgement in seeking out the

people responsible and to guide our leaders in how to resolve this tragedy.

May we become a stronger and wiser nation...

May we work together as one......

may we give confidence to our youth that this too will be overcome.

We must erase the hate that spawns this kind of revenge...

Help us in all of this... dear Lord...In Jesus name...Amen

Come into my temple

Where it is safe

to enter.

Good Morning Brothers and Sisters:

What a blessing to be able to say that to you all. This is a day when there will be great mourning, deep sorrow, more agony of waiting and the unknown for thousands of families. There will continue the endless streams of prayers for the victims and their families, for those who are still unfound, but there will also be prayers of thanksgiving.

 

Our country became the target of someone, we still don't know who, and I will not speculate on that. At this moment we MUST stand together, we MUST lend assistance to our brothers and sisters who have borne the brunt of this act. They need every prayer, assistance support we can bring/give to them. Police, fire personell need your cooperation. We do not know how long things will remain in a state of guard, but we must help by staying calm. Please do not let fear take hold, do not let it cause more harm. I can tell you, this country, we it's people will never be the same again. Our lives have forever been changed.

 

You are all so precious to me, you are part of my being. Those who have perished or were injured are part of me, and you as well. Please hold this world in you hearts and prayers. Let Peace begin today, let it begin with me.

I went out and lifted my pipe for peace.

I am as most of you know of Mohawk blood and I am asking all my friends to

get four pieces of ribbon.......thread anything that is red, white, black

and yellow...In my belief these four colors of the directions stand for the

four races of man. Add our country's colors if you wish

Please take these colors and wear them........Please make a personal promise

to begin praying to YOUR God as you believe-- for peace on this earth. Pray

every morning at 8 am when all of this began...Do this everyday for the

souls who have made their journey as a result of this, for the families, our

families, for the people, for this Turtle Island. I don't think there has

been a more dire time to do this......Please pass this word along to all you

know......

I can only pray at this point....We can only...I can't stop what is

happening...We can't stop ...all I can do is respectfully ask that many

voices of the races with their beliefs begin to pray for peace.....

 

But we can begin by making peace with those we know who we have problems

with and let that healing of ways also ripple out like a pebble dropped

Lets all say a prayer for the United States, the president and the military today. The hijacking of two planes with United States citizens and then the crash of those two planes into the world trade center as well as the plane that laneded at the Pentigon and exploded leaving it burning will leave many people without loved ones. It will leave the country in shock and it will leave the world in a state of devastation and fear.

 

Please pray the the government will find a way to keep us all safe, that the people whose lives this will touch will find a place of comfort with God and that the lives lost will not be for naught. Pray that those people have found a place with God and give comfort to those left behind.

 

Pray that those still alive can be saved and that the doctors, emergency staff,

military have God's hand ! upon them as they do their work. Let's also pray for each other, that we find all find a way to reach out to loved ones whose lives will be forever changed.

On Monday there were people fighting against praying in schools

On Tuesday you would have been hard pressed to find a school where

someone was not praying

 

On Monday there were people trying to separate each other by race, sex,

color and creed

On Tuesday they were all holding hands

 

On Monday we thought that we were secure

On Tuesday we learned better

 

On Monday we were talking about heroes as being athletes

On Tuesday we relearned what hero meant

 

On Monday people went to work at the world trade centers as usual

On Tuesday they died

 

On Monday people were fighting the 10 commandments on government

property

On Tuesday the same people all said "God help us all" while thinking

"Thou shall not kill"

 

On Monday people argued with their kids about picking up their room

On Tuesday the same people could not get home fast enough to hug their

kids

 

On Monday people went out for dinner

On Tuesday they stayed home

 

On Monday people were upset that their dry cleaning was not ready on

time

On Tuesday they waited in line for hours to give blood for the dying

 

On Monday politicians argued about budget surpluses

On Tuesday grief stricken they sang 'God Bless America'

 

On Monday we worried about the car traffic and getting to work late

On Tuesday we worried about air traffic crashing into our house or place

of business

 

On Monday some children had solid families

On Tuesday they were orphans

 

On Monday the president was going to Florida to read to children

On Tuesday he returned to Washington to protect our children

 

On Monday we emailed jokes

On Tuesday we did not

 

It is sadly ironic how it takes horrific events to place things into

perspective, but it has.

The lessons learned this week, the things we have taken for granted, the

things that have been forgotten or overlooked, hopefully will never be

forgotten again.
