Kesti, this is a suggested list of foods the nutriionist gave me. The goal is to better burn calories while ridding the body of candida. The nutritionist took into consideration that I can not eat breakfast foods Other people on a Candida diet may prefer and do better on sweet potatoes and veggies, but I have I.B.S. (irritable bowel syndrome) so many veggies would do a "job" on my colon. I abhor sweet potatoes. These are her notes to me:
BREAKFAST..Important to eat something daily. Start with a glass of Lemon/water(ie lemonade. Also must have a mix of protein and carbohydrate
l. lemon or vanilla yogurt (she was not concerned about the little sugar in it)
2.Slice of mozzerelli cheese melted on a slice of rye bread
3.Tablespoon of natural peanut butter on a slice of whole grain bread
4.small piece of chicken with a few crackers (wheat) 5.piece of fish with a few crackers (whole wheat)
6.sports bar (Clif or Genisoy soy protein bar)
1.3 oz. water packrd tuna on mini whole grain pita (3 in diameter) with a few baby carrots
2. soyburger (Morniingstar Farms, or two other kinds) with whole wheat matzo
3.a small (4 in. long paked potato with 1/2 tsp. melter, shredded light cheese on top
4.1/2 cup (?) shaved turkey breast on 1/2 whole grain English muffin and a few baby carrots
5. a salad with shredded chicken or 3 oz tun and 1/2 whole wheat matzo
6.fajita, saute 1/2 chicken brerat, onions, mushrooms inm 1 tsp. of oil in a whole wheat flour tortilla
7.1/4 cup hummus on a mini whole wheat pita or whole wheat matzo
ADD A LARGE GLASS OF WATER
A large glass of waqter and I'd like you to try something small:
1.a 4 oz flavord "light " yogurt
2.1/4 cup of roasted soynuts (benisoy?)
3. 2 Ry Krisp crackers
4. a handful of baby carrots
5. a whole wheat thick pretzel
..Portions are critical. The piece of of meat, fish, poultry should be no larger than a computer mouse. With:
1. a fist sized amont of pasta (preferably whole wheat) or brown rice, or a small (4 in.) potato and
2. a fist sized amout of: (eat less if more comfortable)
mix of zucchini, mushrooms, tomato
LARGE GLASS OF WATER
ONE MORE GLASS OF WATER IN THE EVENING BEFORE BED
IF YOU DINE OUT...
Request that 1/2 the entree
be brought to the table and the other half wrapped to take home.
So far, I am finding plenty that I CAN eat and feeling better about this all. I am taking a homeopathic remedy, Mercury 30c, once a week to rid me of the sugar cravings. It is working like a charm. I also take diflucan once a week as we do not want to upset my system. (Doing all very slowly, but for me, this is best.) If this can help someone else, please feel free to pass along the information. You know I really care.
